17 out of 18 World Tour teams ready for the men’s Copenhagen Sprint – the strongest lineup in a Danish one-day race ever
The participating teams for the men’s edition of Copenhagen Sprint have now been determined – and it will be in absolute international top class. As many as 17 out of 18 possible World Tour teams will start when the race is run on Sunday 14 June 2026.
With 17 World Tour teams and six Pro teams, 23 professional teams are registered, which means that the race is likely to be visited by virtually the entire international sprinter elite. With the registered teams, the men’s Copenhagen Sprint 2026 will have the strongest field in a Danish one-day race ever.
Massive World Tour attendance
Among the participating teams is Team Visma | Lease a Bike, Lidl–Trek, UAE Team Emirates XRG, Decathlon CMA CMG, Alpecin-Premier Tech, Uno-X Mobility and Team Picnic PostNL.
“It’s fantastic to experience the great support for the men’s race this year. With so many strong teams on the start list, we can hopefully look forward to a field with some of the sport’s biggest sprint profiles. There is potential for participation of names such as Tim Merlier, Jonathan Milan, Biniam Girmay, Sam Bennett, Jasper Philipsen, Olav Kooij and his Danish teammate Tobias Lund Andresen,” says race director Jesper Tikiøb.
Tobias Lund Andresen has started the season with his first World Tour victories and made his mark on the international sprint scene. At the Copenhagen Sprint last year, he drove himself to fifth place.
Lidl–Trek is also on the start list, and it will be exciting to see which constellation they show up for Copenhagen Sprint with.
Last year’s winner Jordi Meeus’ team will also start, which opens up the possibility for him to come back and defend his victory.
Applied for Danish national team
The organizers have applied to the International Cycling Federation (UCI) for the opportunity to invite a Danish national team to the start.
“A national team will give more Danish riders the opportunity to get race kilometers at World Tour level. Copenhagen Sprint is an important sporting platform, so of course we hope that will be an opportunity,” says Jesper Tikiøb
The women’s field will be published on 2 March
The women’s participating teams will be announced on Monday 2 March. Copenhagen Sprint consists of both an elite women’s race and an elite men’s race and will be held on 13 and 14 June 2026.
