Copenhagen Sprint takes place on June 21 and 22, 2025, starting at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde and finishing at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen.

June 21, 2025: The women’s race covers 151.3 km, including 120 km from Roskilde to Copenhagen, followed by three laps on the 11 km circuit in Copenhagen.

Route Length: 151.3 km

The race kicks off with the presentation of the 22 teams at the historic Viking Ship Museum square in Roskilde on Saturday, June 21st. From there, the peloton embarks on a 7.5 km neutral start through Roskilde before the official race begins on Frederiksborgvej near Veddelev.

Right from the start, the route heads north towards Jyllinge (10 km), continuing along small roads through St. Rørbæk (16.6 km) and Vinge (18 km) before reaching Frederikssund—also known as the Viking City—after 23 km.

At 28 km, the first Copenhagen Sprint segment offers the fastest riders a chance to earn valuable points in the intermediate competition. The peloton then passes through Sigerslevøster, Skævinge, and Harløse, reaching Hillerød after 50 km, where they ride past the stunning Frederiksborg Castle and through the town center.

From Hillerød, the route turns south towards Allerød and Farum, before entering more hilly terrain near Ganløse (80 km)—the site of the race’s second Copenhagen Sprint segment.

After passing Veksø and Hove, the route turns eastward, with the peloton speeding past Ballerup (98 km) and the Ballerup Super Arena, before reaching Rødovre (108 km)—the location of the final Copenhagen Sprint segment of the day.

After Rødovre, the race heads straight into Copenhagen via Roskildevej. The riders pass through Frederiksberg, navigating Pile Allé, Allegade, and Falkoner Allé before reaching Jagtvej in Nørrebro.

At Nørrebros Runddel, the peloton enters the final circuit, which will be completed three times. A thrilling finish awaits as the first-ever Copenhagen Sprint champion is crowned.

June 22, 2025: The men’s race spans 235.7 km, with 180 km from Roskilde to Copenhagen, followed by five laps on the 11 km circuit in Copenhagen.

Route Length: 235.7 km

On Sunday, June 22nd, the day begins with the presentation of the 22 teams at the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, where anticipation builds. The peloton then rolls out for a 7.5 km neutral start through Roskilde before the race officially kicks off on Frederiksborgvej near Veddelev.

From the start, the route heads straight north towards Jyllinge (10 km) and continues along smaller roads through St. Rørbæk (16.6 km) before reaching Kronprinsesse Mary’s Bridge (21 km). After crossing this impressive bridge, the riders take on a scenic stretch through Hornsherred, before crossing Kronprins Frederiks Bridge to arrive in Frederikssund (33 km)—the Viking City.

At 36 km, the first Copenhagen Sprint segment provides the riders with an opportunity to collect points. The route then continues through Sigerslevøster, Skævinge, and Merløse, before winding along narrow, twisting roads towards Denmark’s largest lake, Arresø.

After approximately 70 km, the peloton reaches Hillerød, passing the grand Frederiksborg Castle before riding through the town center. Shortly after, the route turns towards Fredensborg, where a picturesque backroad leads the riders past Sørup’s small harbor by Esrum Lake. In Fredensborg (82 km), spectators will see the peloton race down Slotsgade, with the majestic Fredensborg Palace as a backdrop.

The race then continues along small roads past Simons Golf Club before heading towards the world-famous Louisiana Museum of Modern Art (95 km). After a short passage through Humlebæk, the peloton returns towards Hillerød (115 km) via Dageløkke, Langstrup, Asminderød, and Grønholt.

From Hillerød, the riders head directly south towards Allerød and Farum, before reaching Ganløse (143 km)—the site of the race’s second Copenhagen Sprint segment. The peloton then continues through Veksø and Hove, before turning east towards Ballerup (162 km), where they pass the Ballerup Super Arena.

In Rødovre (172 km), the final Copenhagen Sprint of the day takes place before the race heads into Copenhagen via Roskildevej.

The riders pass through Frederiksberg, navigating Pile Allé, Allegade, and Falkoner Allé, before reaching Jagtvej in Nørrebro. At Nørrebros Runddel, the 154-rider peloton enters the final circuit, which will be completed five times.

A dramatic finale awaits, as the strongest riders battle for victory—eternally securing their place in history as the first-ever Copenhagen Sprint Champion.
