Ready, set, bike start: Here is the festival program for Copenhagen Sprint
When the first bicycle tires roll it 21st and On June 22, 2025, it is not only the riders who have something to look forward to at the finish line in Copenhagen. In the finish area at the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK), a cycling party and festival await packed with music, entertainment and activities for the whole family.
Look forward to a fast-paced cycling weekend when Denmark’s new World Tour cycling race runs from Roskilde through nine passing municipalities and lands in the heart of the capital. On Saturday it applies to the women and Sunday to the men. Both days, the race culminates in a public celebration with a festival in Østre Anlæg at SMK and special cheering zones on the 11-kilometre-long stretch around Copenhagen. There will also be a people’s bike race on the closed stretch in Copenhagen on Saturdays.
Festival, folk bike races and cheering zones
When the riders cross the finish line, the cycling party continues at full speed, and there is something for everyone: Jazz for the adults, MGP Allstars and Copenhell for Kids for the younger ones and Bamsen Borst for the little ones. Concert with Svea S and The Savage Rose. You can cycle your way to a smoothie, follow the race from the big screen or explore SMK’s creative bicycle workshop. Or enjoy the various food stalls.
Lord Mayor Lars Weiss is looking forward to Copenhagen once again donning cycling clothes and laying asphalt for a world-class bike race:
“Copenhagen is a cycling city, and it will be really cool when the big star riders whizz over our cobblestones for Copenhagen Sprint. Throughout the cycling weekend, we are preparing the city for a cycling party with lots of cycling activities for children and adults, and I hope that together we will create a public festival.”
Bicycle race for everyone
If you dream of riding on the route, you have the chance on June 21 at 11-14 for the people’s bike race. Everyone can join in. Whether you are a sports enthusiast, everyday cyclist, child or adult, you can cycle the 11-kilometre route in a car-free Copenhagen. Join us for a unique and diverse cycling experience just before the elite race for women hits the route around Copenhagen.
The People’s Bicycle Race is the start of the folk festival in Copenhagen with a DJ and various races in the race. Among other things, the Everyday Activists in the Social Administration are arranging a Diversity Start and DGI Greater Copenhagen is organising a Senior Start. You can hop on and off the route at eight different locations, so you can decide where you start and end. It is free to participate. After the elite women have crossed the finish line, the Danish Cyclists’ Federation organizes a People’s Bicycle Race by Night starting from SMK at 6 pm.
Special cheering zones
If you prefer to cheer rather than pedal, there are plenty of great places to sit down with friends and family. In addition to the festival site at the finish line, there are special cheering zones, where it will be buzzing with life and cycling activities. At Sankt Hans Torv and Nørrebro’s Runddel there will be a big screen, outdoor seating, street activities with panna football and dancing.
