Just like last year, the national teams have been given a place in the field, and now the two national coaches Mette Andersen and Michael Mørkøv have set their teams.
When the women roll out from Roskilde on Saturday with their sights set on Copenhagen, it will be with a strong group in the national team uniform. Here are the women who have been selected for the national team:
- Amalie Dideriksen
- Christina Bragh Lorenzen
- Ellen Klinge
- Laura Auerbach-Lind
- Olympia Norrid-Mortensen
- Silje Weitze Antvorskov
And there are big ambitions from national coach Mette Andersen, who is looking forward to the World Tour race on Danish roads:
“We come with a national team where we have both experience and young riders with great potential. Sportingly, the ambition is to deliver Amalie as fresh as possible when things are to be decided. The laps in Copenhagen will be crucial, so our goal is that we as a team give her the best conditions to race for a top position.”
On Sunday, the men’s team will also make the trip from Roskilde to Copenhagen, and again this year it is an incredibly strong field. Here, Michael Mørkøv has selected the following riders to ride in the Danish colors:
- Alexander Salby
- Conrad Haugsted
- Frederik Rodenberg
- Mads Andersen
- Rasmus Bøgh Wallin
- Sebastian Nielsen
- Tobias Aagaard
Michael Mørkøv has chosen seven strong riders for Sunday’s Copenhagen Sprint, which will help create an exciting bike race on the roads of Zealand.
“It’s a pretty unique opportunity for some of our biggest talents and experienced riders to try out on the World Tour – and then even on home soil in Copenhagen.”
“I look forward to us as a national team being able to make our mark on the race and give some of our domestic riders a rare opportunity in front of the Danish audience. We must try to measure ourselves against the world elite, and that is a challenge we are looking forward to.”
