Traffic info for Copenhagen
Copenhagen Sprint 2026 will be held over two days: on Saturday 13 June, the women will run and on Sunday, 14 June, the men will run.

The route starts in Roskilde at Stændertorvet and goes north to Frederikssund, through Hillerød and Fredensborg and then down past Furesøen through Ballerup. The route enters Copenhagen via Vigerslev Allé and the riders hit the route’s circuit in Copenhagen close to the City Hall Square. The finish line is at the National Gallery of Denmark in Copenhagen.
In Copenhagen , traffic will be extra affected, as the circuit is closed from Saturday at 06:00 to Sunday evening at 20:00. The finish area on Sølvgade will be closed to traffic already from Friday 12 June at 12.00 to Sunday at 22.00.
There are seven traffic locks in Copenhagen where cars can pass. The locks are closed on Saturday 13 June from 13:00 to 17:30 and Sunday 14 June from 10:00 to 16:30.
There is a ban on stopping and parking along the entire circuit from Friday 12 June at 12:00 until Sunday 14 June at 22:00.
We recommend the following to road users and citizens:
- Do not park on the route.
- Check Rejseplanen if you are going to travel by public transport.
- Check current traffic information before you leave and plan your trip before you head out.
- Listen to the radio and get reports about the traffic situation from DR P4 Traffic while you drive.
- Plan your trip if you’re going to see bike races – and use the bike or metro if possible.
- Take advantage of the motorways, which are open all weekend.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Buses
In connection with the bike race, there will be temporary changes in bus traffic. Some buses will be held back in traffic locks, which may cause delays. In addition, some departures may be cancelled and some bus routes may be rescheduled. Make sure to set aside extra time and plan your trip well in advance.

Save money on public transport
You can buy an event ticket for public transport – here one adult can bring two children under the age of 12 for free, and the ticket is valid for 12 hours. You can buy the event ticket here or in the “DOT Tickets” app (NOTE the event ticket does not cover Roskilde).
