After initially announcing the event, the Netcompany INEOS Cycling Team is now ready to start the Copenhagen Sprint 2026. The team has received approval to participate, and the decision comes shortly after the announcement of the new Danish partnership with Netcompany.
Thus, all 18 World Tour teams have now been confirmed to start in the men’s race.
INEOS Grenadiers announced earlier this week that Danish company Netcompany is a new sponsor of the team. In continuation of that news, the team has now also chosen to start in Copenhagen Sprint.
“It’s great to be heading to the Copenhagen Sprint, especially off the back of our partnership with Netcompany, which is really exciting. To be going to Denmark so soon after the announcement is a nice moment for them and for us as a team “ said Director of Racing Geraint Thomas from Netcompany INEOS Cycling Team.
Provides a strong sprinter profile
The team will start with the Australian sprinter Sam Welsford, who with a strong team around him can play a role in the final.
“Going there with someone like Sam Welsford, who’s got a genuine chance, and with a strong group around him, makes it even more exciting. Opportunities like this in WorldTour sprint races don’t come around that often, so we’re looking forward to it and aiming to get the best result we can.” says Geraint Thomas.
All WorldTour teams gathered in Roskilde
With the addition of the Netcompany INEOS Cycling Team, all WorldTour teams are now represented in this year’s edition of the Copenhagen Sprint – a significant stamp of quality for the race.
Race Director of Copenhagen Sprint, Jesper Tikiøb, says:
“I pinch myself in the arm that all WorldTour teams will start in the men’s race. With such a strong field, where the teams prioritize their line-ups, we are also confirmed in the fact that Copenhagen Sprint’s race format has an important place on the international cycling calendar. ”
