Jonathan Milan deltager i Copenhagen Sprint

Jonathan Milan ready for Copenhagen Sprint in strong international field

We can now unveil another big name to the start list, when Copenhagen Sprint is run in June. Jonathan Milan from Lidl-Trek is confirmed to start – and he will be joined by several of the world’s strongest sprinters.

In just a few years, Jonathan Milan has developed into one of the most dominant sprinters in international cycling. With stage wins and points jerseys in both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France, he has made his mark at the very top.

Lidl-Trek goes all-in on Milan
At Lidl-Trek, the strategy is clear: the focus is on the sprint and the team is built around the Italian star.

Sports Director Kim Andersen says:

“We have chosen to focus fully on the sprint and are building the team around Jonathan Milan. He is one of the world’s fastest riders, and we come with the ambition to win the Copenhagen Sprint.”

The flat route suits Milan perfectly, and the team expects to be able to deliver him in an optimal position going into the final.

Strong international field
The start list is really starting to take shape, and the competition is getting fierce. Names such as Pascal Ackermann, Fabio Jakobsen and Sam Bennett have also been confirmed for the start. In addition, last year’s winner Jordi Meeus returns to defend his victory.

Jonathan Milan is one of the best sprinters in the world right now, and that’s exactly the type of riders we want to attract to Copenhagen Sprint. When we also get such strong names as Jakobsen, Bennett and Ackermann on board, the stage is set for an absolutely fantastic race on Danish soil,” says race director Jesper Tikiøb.

The start list is preliminary and will not be finally confirmed until 72 hours before the race, but already now Copenhagen Sprint promises to be a pure showdown between some of the world’s best finishers.
